Muscat International Airport
Opened in 2018, Muscat International Airport replaced the former Seeb International Airport with a modern facility designed to handle 20 million passengers annually with expansion capacity to 48 million. The airport features a 580,000 square metre terminal building with state-of-the-art baggage handling and passenger processing systems. It serves as the hub for Oman Air and SalamAir.
Salalah International Airport
Salalah Airport serves the Dhofar region with domestic and international connections. Traffic peaks during the Khareef season when the airport handles significant charter and scheduled service increases. The terminal was upgraded to handle 2 million passengers annually.
Duqm Airport
Duqm Airport supports the Special Economic Zone at Duqm with commercial and cargo services. The airport is designed to grow alongside the SEZAD development, with plans for expanded cargo facilities to support industrial logistics.
Regional Airports
Sohar Airport and Khasab Airport provide regional connectivity. Ras Al Hadd Airport near Sur supports tourism to the Sharqiyah region. These airports receive daily Oman Air or SalamAir services connecting to Muscat.
Airlines and Routes
Oman Air, the national carrier, operates from Muscat to over 50 destinations. SalamAir, the low-cost carrier, serves regional and domestic routes. International airlines including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, and Lufthansa serve Muscat with direct flights.
